Occupational Therapy Supports

Our therapy support is built on strong, trusting relationships. By taking the time to really understand each person, we work together to identify meaningful goals and support the development, recovery, or maintenance of everyday skills.

This may include improving mobility, coordination, thinking skills, or fine motor abilities. We also look at environmental factors that may be creating barriers and work to reduce these, so daily activities feel more manageable and achievable.

Where needed, we help clients find new ways to engage in their everyday activities, supporting greater independence, confidence, and participation in the community.

Home Modifications

We provide professional Home Modification Assessments to support safety, independence, and accessibility in your home. Our experienced Occupational Therapist offers clear recommendations for grab rails, ramps, shower alterations, and other accessibility solutions.

Our reports are comprehensive and meet funding requirements for NDIS participants. We work closely with you to identify practical, evidence‑based modifications that fit your goals and support long‑term wellbeing.

From small adjustments to larger structural changes, we help ensure your home is safer, more comfortable, and designed to meet your needs now and into the future.

Assistive Technology Assessments

At The OT Tree, we focus on understanding your needs and supporting you to access the right technology so everyday life becomes safer, easier, and more independent.

We provide tailored Assistive Technology (AT) Assessments to support independence, safety, and quality of life. Our experienced Occupational Therapist works closely with NDIS participants to match the right solutions – from wheelchairs, mobility aids and communication devices to specialised adaptive equipment.

Our reports are clear, comprehensive, and meet all funding requirements. We stay up to date with the latest equipment by working closely with trusted suppliers, ensuring recommendations are practical, evidence‑based, and aligned with your goals.

Assistive Technology Types

Assistive Technology includes any device that improves a person’s functional abilities, from simple low‑tech tools to advanced high‑tech equipment. We prescribe low‑, mid‑, and high‑cost Assistive Technology across the NDIS, including:

  • Power wheelchairs, manual wheelchairs and power assist devices

  • Walkers, rollator frames and mobility scooters

  • Shower stools and chairs, toilet seats and care aids

  • Modified kitchen appliances, utility stools and modified cutlery/utensils

  • Hoists, sling/hoist lifters, transfer aids and furniture raisers

Functional Capacity Assessments

Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs) help NDIA planners understand a person’s needs and make informed decisions about NDIS funding. Because of this, high‑quality FCAs are an important part of the planning process.

At The OT Tree, we pride ourselves on delivering clear, thorough, and reliable FCAs. Our assessments combine clinical observation, well‑established standardised tools, and strong quality assurance processes. Each report is shared in draft form with key stakeholders, allowing time for review and refinement, so the final assessment accurately reflects the participant’s abilities, challenges, and support needs.
